|Date||14 January 2018|
|Venue||Bank of England Sports Centre|
|Result||W 20 - 17|
The under 14s squad hadn’t been together since mid-December and for the first fifteen minutes of the game it showed, with the opposition exploiting the weaknesses and running in two tries. However, the boys soon got their heads together and by the break managed to pull one back.
In the second half the Bank team were much improved. The backs followed up quickly on some tactical kicking by the fly-half to apply pressure to the opposition, forcing mistakes. Strong tackling, improved rucking by the forwards and quick ball from the scrum gave an opportunity for some good runs, breaking through the field and resulting in three further tries. The opposition kept going until the end and with the final play pulled one back, but Bank were the eventual winners.
