Chairman’s letter

Dear Friends and Members,

It’s been a busy few weeks at the Club with some important news which I’d like to pass on to everyone. The first three relate to key dates for our Vets and Supporters with an open invitation to join us, “for a few beers!!”

  • 3 February v Staines. A key league match we need to win to keep promotion prospects alive.

  • 3 March v London Welsh (away). The Welsh lay on a great pre-match lunch so let me know if you’d like to join us. We have 15 places reserved with 6 already taken. Their home crowds are 500+ … so another great contest!

  • 14 April v UCS OB’s. The Annual Dinner is on the same night, in the Marquee with Awards and XV summaries. Lounge suits and an enjoyable evening. If you’d like to join us, just drop me an email.

  • Floodlights. As a result of a join funding partnership with the RFU and the Bank Sports Club, we now have two more training floodlights. They make a huge difference and it’s all down to Simon Devis working like to Trojan behind the scenes to secure this funding.

  • Sovereigns Chief Whip. I’m pleased to announce young Ed Threlfall has accepted this new role as Chief Whip. These team positions are an integral part of a XV’s development and management. We’re very grateful for Ed’s help and support …. and he gets his own tankard behind the bar !!

  • Website. Have you any old photos? Please send them on to me as we’re developing our website archives. Colour, black/white or seepier – all welcome!!

All the very best for now
